During our trip to Maine we realized just how much we loved blueberries. They are so fresh and mixed not just into food but also a lot of fun cocktails, beers and ciders we sampled while on our trip.

Blueberry is great because while it’s sweet it doesn’t make the drink (or in this case cider) overly sweet because dry ciders are my all time favorite.

Urban Farms was a new cidery we found while in Bar Harbor and all over Maine for that matter as it’s produced in Portland. When I asked the waiter about it he compared it to a wine which was really confusing until I had it myself. It looks almost like port when poured and it has the dryness of a good french cider with hints of sweet throughout but not an overwhelming blueberry. It was by far one of the best ciders… or I guess I should say cidah!.. I’ve had in a long time.

The second favorite blueberry libation I had while in Maine came from 95 Ocean, the restaurant at the Nonantum resort in Kennebunkport. Not only was the food fantastic here (highly recommend the salmon and fish tacos) but their blueberry lemon mojito was fantastic! Mojito’s are definitely not a go to drink for me but this was so good and refreshing it was the perfect start to a meal or end to the day. It’s made with Cold River Blueberry vodka, mint, blueberries and lemon. A perfectly delicious skinny mojito packed with flavor. A must-try if you’re in the area!
